Any organization is only as good as it’s staff. We at NBL
pride ourselves in having put together a team of professionals that have the
experience and the mentality to deal with the day to day rigors of Customs
Brokerage life. The following are the breakdowns in our staff organization:
General Manager – Mark Navarro
A University of Texas at Austin graduate, Mark has been in the field of Customs
Brokerage work for over eight years, dealing with every angle of the business
from the arrival of paper work to the collection of funds on the final invoice.
Operations Manager – Rawle Dattoo
A NBL staff member for over twenty-three years, Rawle has been moved to the
operations manager position due to his competence, hard work and customer
service which has made him one of the most reliable people in the business
Entry Clerks
This department is made up of seven individuals, each with over fifteen years of
experience in their field. These gentlemen interpret the Customs Tariff and
prepare the entries for submission to Customs. They also work closely with the
clerk’s working to get the entries passed, offering advice and knowledge in
getting the best rate for the client.
Processing Clerks
NBL has four individuals that make the trip back and forth everyday between
NBL’s office the Customs offices, whether it be in Port of Spain, Pt. Lisas, San
Fernando or Piarco, getting the documents approved from Customs so that the
cargo can be cleared at the various ports of entry.
Clearance Clerks

conclude all customs transactions by carrying approved and paid documents to the
port and clear and deliver the cargo to the final consignee
Administrative staff
These individuals are the gate keepers, receiving the raw documentation either
in fax or email form and then transforming them into properly formatted
paperwork that the entry clerk’s can then use to prepare entries. They also
handle all payments for customs and the local freight forwarders, prepare all
weekly cargo reports to clients and handle all filing of closed off jobs.
Accounting Staff
Most probably the most import of all, these five individuals process the
clearance documents into properly formatted invoices for the clients. They also
handle all final payments to the sub-contractors that we use for services and
procurement, and any day-to-day queries that may arise.
Work permit Department
Along with handling cargo, we also handle the movement of people in and out of
Trinidad, leading to the development of this department, manned by five
individuals who handle every aspect of this very important and delicate
process. From the application process to the final payment and meeting &
assisting of these individuals through their chosen port of entry into Trinidad.
Transportation
From the three courier drivers and one van driver to the dozen or so taxi
drivers and delivery trucks under our belt, NBL makes sure to have network of
transport that ensures delivery of all packages from the small envelope to the
largest piece of cargo.
